Aventura pentru distrugerea Inelului (One Ring) continua in The Lord of the Rings: The War of the Ring, primul joc de strategie in timp real bazat pe saga The Lord of the Rings. Batalii masive vor izbucni atunci cand oamenii din Taramul de Mijloc (Middle-Earth) vor lupta pentru controlul lumii lui Tolkien. Joaca reprezentand fortele binelui si lupta eroic pentru distrugerea Inelului, sau intruchipeaza fortele raului pentru a obtine controlul asupra Taramului de Mijloc pentru totdeauna.
